Live AED to PKR rate today

1 AED buys about 75.57 Pakistani rupees at the mid-market rate as of 28 Aug 2026, 9:27 AM GST. The rupee has spent the last two years on a slow depreciation path against the dollar — and by extension the dirham, which is pegged to it. That means senders from Dubai and Sharjah are seeing more rupees per dirham than at almost any point in the last decade. Live number above, historical context below, and the comparison table shows what each provider actually pays out on 1,000 AED.

PKR to AED — the reverse trip

1 PKR is currently about 0.01323 AED at mid-market — a very small number, which is why PKR→AED transfers are almost always for larger amounts. The State Bank of Pakistan applies capital-flow controls: outbound personal remittances need a reason (education, medical, travel) and supporting paperwork. Most Pakistani banks with an international-services desk can process it, but the spread is wider than the AED→PKR direction and settlement can take one to three business days.

Sending from Dubai and Sharjah

The largest Pakistani communities in the UAE cluster in Sharjah (Rolla, Al Nahda), Dubai (Al Karama, Al Qusais, Deira), and Ajman. Payday remittance volumes spike on the 25th–28th of every month — queues at Al Ansari and Lulu counters routinely stretch outside the door on those evenings. Two small tactics that save money: (1) send on payday itself before the rate moves overnight and (2) compare the branch rate against the same provider’s app rate before paying — the app is usually 20–40 paise per dirham better, and takes 90 seconds.

How money arrives in Pakistan

Five distinct rails, each with different speed and cost characteristics.

  • Bank deposit — HBL, UBL, Meezan, MCB, Bank Alfalah, Faysal, JS Bank, Standard Chartered all accept UAE remittances. Best rate, low or zero payout fees, arrives same-day if you send before 3 PM GST on a business day.
  • Raast — the State Bank of Pakistan’s instant payment rail, launched in 2021. When your provider settles into a Raast-enabled account, the recipient sees the money in seconds, 24/7 including weekends. Widely supported by Wise, TapTap Send, HBL Konnect and MCB.
  • JazzCash — Pakistan’s largest mobile wallet, operated by Jazz. TapTap Send and several exchange houses can deposit directly. Ideal for family members who prefer wallet cash-outs at Jazz shops rather than a bank branch.
  • Easypaisa — the Telenor-Ubank wallet. Similar to JazzCash on speed and network reach; slightly stronger in KPK and Balochistan than in the Punjab urban belt.
  • Cash pickup — Western Union and MoneyGram agent networks are enormous inside Pakistan. Instant, but the rate is typically 0.7–1.5% worse than a Raast bank deposit and you pay a small pickup fee.

For larger balances (education fees, property, retirement savings), the Roshan Digital Account gives overseas Pakistanis a full Pakistani bank account, dollar-denominated deposits, and access to Naya Pakistan Certificates. Every major Pakistani bank now offers it and onboarding is done digitally from the UAE.

Why the AED–PKR rate has moved so much

The dirham is pegged to the US dollar at 3.6725, so AED–PKR moves almost entirely with USD–PKR. Pakistan’s rupee has faced sustained pressure from a widening current-account deficit, IMF programme conditions and a slow-motion foreign-exchange reserves squeeze. That mix has pushed USD–PKR from roughly 175 in 2021 to well above 280 today — which is why senders from the UAE now get materially more rupees per dirham than they did four years ago.

Frequently asked questions

What is 1 AED in Pakistani rupees today?
The live mid-market AED to PKR rate is shown at the top of this page and refreshed every hour. It is the fairest reference number — the midpoint big banks quote each other. Consumer providers will always be a percent or two worse. Check the comparison table for what actually reaches Pakistan.
Why is the Lulu or Al Ansari PKR rate different from Google's?
Google shows the mid-market rate — the theoretical midpoint. Lulu and Al Ansari have to pay for foreign-exchange liquidity, branch overheads and staff, so they build a small margin into the rate they show you. Typical spread for Pakistan is 0.4–0.9% at branch, sometimes tighter in-app. That gap is how the exchange house makes money.
What is the cheapest way to send AED to Pakistan right now?
The best-value row is highlighted in the comparison table above and is calculated at the moment the page renders — no static answer here can stay honest. For most amounts between 500 and 5,000 AED, app-based providers (Wise, TapTap Send) beat exchange houses on rate but sometimes lose on delivery speed. For cash pickup on payday, Al Ansari or Lulu branches are usually within 0.5% of the winner and settle faster.
Are there limits on sending money to Pakistan from the UAE?
UAE-licensed remitters run KYC on any transfer above roughly 3,500 AED — typically Emirates ID + a source-of-funds check. Pakistan does not cap incoming remittances but individual bank accounts may hit their own daily deposit limits. The State Bank of Pakistan runs the Roshan Digital Account programme for overseas Pakistanis, which offers higher limits and better rates than a standard savings account.
How fast is Raast for receiving money from the UAE?
Raast is Pakistan's instant payment rail, operated by the State Bank of Pakistan. When a remittance provider settles into a Pakistani bank account that supports Raast, the recipient sees the money in seconds — 24 hours a day, weekends included. Most large Pakistani banks (Meezan, HBL, UBL, MCB, Bank Alfalah) are Raast-connected.
